Design: Lucerne House by Marshall Architects

Located in Auckland, New Zealand, Daniel Marshall Architects presents the Lucerne House. Sitting on the edge of an ancient crater that embraces Orakei Basin with extravagant views to inner Waitamata Harbor and Auckland City, the abode is quietly sophisticated despite using a limited palette of materials. Bespoke items include a chandelier with hand-blown glass spheres by Katie Brown, a front door handle crafted by David White, and panels behind the dining table painted by Daniel Marshall. Designed with a car enthusiast in mind, the garage doors have been detailed to disappear into the adjoining cedar exterior. [See More]

Videos: Kimbra "Settle Down" (Live Session)
"It's cathartic," New Zealand singer/songwriter Kimbra tells our friends at Billboard of the U.S. release of her debut record, "Vows." "I have lived with these songs since I was 16, and started working on the record at 17, so it definitely feels like an iconic moment to have it out in America." Recently Kimbra and her backing band took to the roof of Mophonics Studio on a fine New York City afternoon to perform album tracks "Two Way Street," "Settle Down" and "Withdraw," R&B-tinged pop gems that exhibit her skin-shivering voice and her penchant for crafting hooks. Enjoy.

Located in downtown Auckland, New Zealand, Room 104 is a men’s grooming lounge designed to provide the men in Auckland with nothing short of the ultimate grooming experience. More than just a haircut or cut throat shave, the brothers that founded room 104 aspire to deliver class and style to their male clients. This video shoot distills the experience of being groomed there into an abstract and hopefully inspiring three-minute short. Enjoy.

News: MegaBox Is Why MegaUpload Was Shutdown

Last Thursday the US Justice Department came down hard on Megaupload and its mega founder, Kim Dotcom. In the days since, there has been a shake-up of sorts in the digital storage realm.
Several smaller sites have drastically changed their business models. Others, like MediaFire, reached out to me after I published this post attempting to distance themselves from Megaupload. However, yesterday, a new theory surfaced that indicates Megaupload’s demise had less to do with piracy than previously thought. [See & Read More]
