Sports: Why People Hate Notre Dame Football

Notre Dame is going to play for college football’s crown jewel – The BCS National Championship. ND is the first to start the season unranked and end up earning a BCS birth. A movie will probably be made about this unimaginable rags-to-riches saga, complete with last-minute victories against all odds. Yet according to my informal unscientific poll of football fans, Brussels sprouts have an approval rating 74% higher than Notre Dame Football. The reasons are numerous tasty morsels for the haters. First, most in the US are not Irish. Most are not Catholics. [Read More]

Videos: Chris Ivory 56-Yard Touchdown
Early in today’s matchup between the unbeaten Atlanta Falcons and the New Orleans Saints, New Orleans running back Chris Ivory took off on a 56-yard touchdown run. Ivory was able to elude not only the defenders but the sideline and cut back across the field, making the run roughly 80 yards all told. Enjoy.

Videos: Ole Miss’ Incredible Touchdown
Ole Miss WR Jeff Scott caught a decent ball, but it was his heads up play which may vault it into the SportsCenter Top 10 category. Jazzy Jeff caught the pass and was seemingly tackled by an Auburn defenseman, but he rolled directly over the top with his knee never touching the ground. Jeff alertly kept running while the Auburn defense just watched him walk into the endzone for six points. A good reminder to keep playing until the whistle blows. Enjoy.

Sports: Tyrann Mathieu Dismissed From LSU

This could be considered Karma as the Tyrann Mathieu aka The Honey Badger went off on the media via Twitter for being too critical of him. If they didn’t have a legit reason to be critical of him before, they do now. This isn’t the first time Mathieu has been suspended. You have to be pretty dumb to fail not 1, not 2, but 3 drug tests. That makes you a Drug addict. [Watch & Read More]

Sports: Terrell Owens Is A Changed Man?

Terrell Owens is officially a member of the Seattle Seahawks. Although he signed his new one-year contract with the team earlier in the week, T.O. made things official by stepping onto the practice field with the team for the first time yesterday. He also spoke to a large group of reporters after practice ended and talked about how things are going to be different for him this time around now that he's back in the NFL following a year away from the game. "It's all about for me now being part of something rather than being the center of something," he said. [See & Read More]

Videos: Penn State Hit With $60 Million, Bowl Ban
The NCAA didn't give the Penn State football program the "death penalty" this morning. But, to most Penn State fans, it probably feels like it. In the wake of the Jerry Sandusky child sexual abuse scandal, the findings of the Freeh Report, and the alleged cover-up that took place at the hands of former Penn State head coach Joe Paterno and others at the school, the NCAA just handed out a slew of harsh sanctions against the program. First, the NCAA fined Penn State $60 million, which is the total amount that the Penn State football program brings in every year. [Read More]

Justin Combs doesn't know who will be coaching him next season at UCLA. Yet, that didn't prevent the Iona Prep senior cornerback from verbally committing to the Bruins on Tuesday, making good on a private commitment he had made more than a month ago.
"I was committed before and I just thought I'm still going to go with them because I have faith in the program," Combs said. "I have faith that everything is going to work out." [Watch & Read More]
