In an interview with Huffington Post Black Voices Nas chats about fatherhood and marriage. The rapper who is the father of two children, a daughter Destiny with ex-video vixen Carmen Bryan, and son named Knight with singer Kelis,  was asked about the importance of fatherhood in today’s society.

He too is one of countless victims affected by “Crazy Baby Mama Syndrome,” and insists that many men abandon their children because of it. “A lot of times, men may feel like the baby mother is so crazy, ‘I can’t deal with her, I’m going to let it all go.’… I’ve been through it.” [Read More]

But despite this, Nas says that he’s adamant about taking care of his. He explains, “You gotta be that man for those kids, and even for the crazy baby mother (speaking for all the people out there with the crazy baby mothers). You just gotta do what you gotta do. Just because they’re crazy, that don’t got sh*t to do with what’s going on with your life and you keeping the lights on.”

When asked if he has any advice on marriage, the divorced rapper responds “No, and don’t take anyone’s advice, that’s what you do… I think marriage is a beautiful thing. I’m still a supporter of it.”

While we’re happy that Nas is a responsible dad, it’s kinda hard believing that he still “supports” something that has him dishing out $44K monthly…
