Originally released in November of 1997 and immortalized on the feet of Denzel Washington’s Jake Shuttlesworth in Spike Lee‘s 1998 New York basketball classic He Got Game, Jordan Brand is bringing back the White/Black-True Red colorway of the Air Jordan 13 for a spring release. This retro edition of the kicks pairs a padded white leather overlay with a combination of black leather and nubuck while retaining the silhouette’s signature black cat-inspired paw-like sole and holographic jewel. Finished with contrasting red accents on the outsole and Jumpman branding, the kicks are due to be available from flagship Nike doors and Jordan Brand retailers this Saturday, March 16th for $170 USD.

Sneakers: Air Jordan 13 Retro

Designed by Tinker Hatfield and originally released in 1998, the Black/Varsity Red-White colorway of the Air Jordan 13 has been tapped for a return this January. Inspired by the paw of a panther and an unknowing play on Michael Jordan’s “Black Cat” nickname, the retro edition of the sneaker features an upper of tumbled black leather, red nubuck, and a padded black mesh overlay alongside a perforated tongue, a hidden lacing system, and Zoom Air cushioning. Furthering the cat-like aesthetic, the kicks maintain their signature holographic jewel – meant to resemble the eye of a cat and housing both Jordan’s jersey number and iconic Jumpman logo. The 2013 retro of the Air Jordan 13 is due to be available from Jordan Brand stockists now for $170 USD.

Perhaps one of the most anticipated releases of the year from the Jordan camp, the iconic shoe is making its Bred return positioned atop the customary Varsity Red undersole and pure white midsole. Available respectively in either a white/metallic gold or black/metallic gold colorway, the box features a gold Jumpman logo with “VI” and “VII” printed on either side. News from the Jordan Brand brings word of the retro release of the Air Jordan 7 “Raptors.” Presented in black, true red, dark charcoal and team purple – reminiscent of the colors worn by Toronto’s NBA franchise – the Jumpman logo appears prominently on the outer portion of the basketball shoe. First introduced in 2002, the Air Jordan 7 “Raptors” Retro will be released online on September 1st for $160 USD.

Sneakers: Jordan X Auto Clave

Just as Jordan Brand is bringing back the heralded Air Jordan Retro X next year, we can also expect to see a pair of the tenth-edition inspired casual variation, the Auto Clave. Optioned in a tonal red, and black and red set, the sneakers see a premium leather composition as a pebbled effect has been utilized on much of the upper.

A tonal Jumpman log has been imprinted alongside, while additional branding can be noticed on the tongue. Set to release in January 2012, they will retail at $110 USD.

There's no question that Michael Jordan's personalized plane—which was recently spotted on the tarmac at an airport in San Diego—is fly.
