Even given my status as an Old Guy Who Loves Facebook — a phenomenon of the modern age characterized by aggravated carpal-tunnel syndrome, a weirdly revived devotion to high-school chums, and a proclivity for throwing old Van Morrison videos out to a gaping world — I have to admit that the giddy national pageant attending Friday's Facebook IPO has left me awfully cold, and awfully pessimistic that this country ever is going to get its economic house in order in anything resembling a fair and just way. After hearing so much about it, I finally got a chance to peep the Tim Duncan profile in the new issue of Sports Illustrated last night. And, I've gotta agree with everyone out there who's read it: It's impressive. Without getting Tim to open up much, SI writer Chris Ballard provides an in-depth look at a guy who probably doesn't get the respect he deserves around the NBA. One of the more interesting things that Ballard points out in the piece is the fact that Duncan hates Kevin Garnett. In fact, he doesn't just hate him, he hates him. Here's just a taste of how deep the hate runs. [Read More]

Among the newly released evidence is video from a 7-Eleven where Trayvon bought Skittles and an Arizona iced tea, just before he was shot dead during a confrontation with the neighborhood watchman. Spotify is moving up in the world. Just a couple months ago, reports emerged that the music streaming company was trying to raise money from investors at a $3.5 billion valuation— but some doubted that it was actually worth that much. Today, though, DealBook reports that Spotify is successfully raising hundreds of millions at a valuation of not $3.5 billion, but a full $4 billion. [See & Read More]
Looking forward to the upcoming Spider-Man film? Hate movie surprises? Got four minutes? Then you might want to check out this “super preview,” of The Amazing Spider-Man, currently slated for a theater release on July 3rd. Rather than simply show four minutes of a single scene, this preview combines the main elements of several previously shown trailers and fleshes them out without (hopefully) revealing too much into the plot. We’d rather wait until July to learn the secret behind Peter Parker’s family, and find the true origins of Spider-Man. Enjoy.

The award-winning Sony Alpha NEX ($598.00) series is due for an upgrade, with Sony’s newly announced NEX-F3. The F3 makes use of an APS-C sensor shared from the NEX-7 that is substantially larger than traditional micro four-thirds sensors. The NEX-F3 will offer a powerful more budget-orientated offering that will utilize the same E-mount lens system, and a very similar body as the current NEX cameras. It will also add a few new features and subtle upgrades like a full 180° tiltable LCD for self-portraits, a built-in flash and a greater versatility in auto shooting modes for novices. Expect an arrival this June. Watch a video demo here.

Get your tequila with no drunk-dial regrets in this week’s cocktail popsicle featuring a honeydew margarita with cucumber. This may be my favorite cocktail pop yet! The vehicles of Land Rover embody some admirable traits, like craftsmanship, practicality, and tenacity. Playfulness, however, isn’t a word that is often associated with Britain’s revered maker of luxury utility vehicles. Until now, that is. Land Rover, which is celebrating a quarter of a century in the American market this year, recently unveiled the Range Rover Evoque Convertible Concept, a vehicle that, from top to bottom and bumper to bumper, is the very definition of playfulness.
